The kinds of SEN that are provided for:

At Delves Lane Primary School, we have experience of supporting children and young people with a wide range of need including:

  • Children with Speech, language and communication difficulties
  • Children with autism
  • Children with specific learning difficulties
  • Children with moderate learning difficulties
  • Children with hearing and visual impairment
  • Children with physical difficulties
  • Children with social and emotional difficulties

The school provides data on the levels and types of need to the Local Authority. This is collected through the school census.

  • 28 children have Communication and Interaction needs = 35% of SEN children
  • 59 children have Cognition and Learning needs = 75.6% of SEN children
  • 17 children have Social, Emotional and Mental Health = 21.7% of SEN children
  • 7 children have Sensory and Physical = 8.9% of SEN children

Percentage of SEN children who have more than one area:

  • 26 children = 33% of the children on the SEN register have more than one area of need.
