Important – Safeguarding Pupils – Home Time Arrangements

11th September 2015 By emmascott

home time arrangements – form

Welcome back and an especially warm welcome to all of our new Reception and Nursery parents. We hope that you had a fantastic summer.

We have an exciting year ahead of us, with many trips and events planned.  A ‘School Calendar of Events’ will be sent home in the next two weeks, once all dates have been confirmed.

I am attaching a summary of the results for the summer of 2015.  They are fantastic I would like to thank all pupils, staff, and parents for their hard work and support.

Safeguarding Pupils

As we welcome pupils back to school this autumn, can I just inform you that the welfare and safety of all pupils is of paramount importance for us.

Infant Building:

Under no circumstances should a pupil in early years or Key Stage One walk to or from school on their own before or after school.  In addition, we only hand over pupils to named adults or older siblings provided they are 16 years old or above.  Pupils will not be handed over to other adults unless the school has been informed by the parent that they’ve made this arrangement.  We also ask that you keep us informed of any changes in arrangements /details by completing a new form.  Parents/Carers must inform the school office as a matter of urgency if they are running late.

Junior Building

There is no set age when children are ready to walk home on their own.  It very much depends on their maturity and confidence.  Therefore as regards to Key Stage Two pupils we believe, that you as parents need to decide whether your child is ready for this responsibility.

We would still highly recommend that pupils in Year 3 and 4 are still brought to school (top yard) and collected.

Pupils must be collected from the ‘top yard’ by designated adults on the contact forms and will not be handed over to other adults unless the school has been informed by the parent that they’ve made this arrangement.  We also ask that you keep us informed of any changes in arrangements /details by completing a new form.  Parents/Carers must inform the school office as a matter of urgency if they are running late.

If you allow your child to walk to the school gate or a parked car outside the school gate, then the school will request written consent for this.  As parents you are responsible for ensuring your child knows what to do in the event in any delay in your arrival.  Please note there is no supervision at the gate or outside the premises and staff will be unaware if your child has or has not been collected safely.

Attached is a form  for you to complete regarding home time arrangements.  Please could you fill it in and return it as a matter of urgency.  If the form is not completed and returned

then pupils will not be allowed to leave the premises as we will not have the required written consent.

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU COMPLETE THE FORM EVEN IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY DONE SO.

Attendance:

I am attaching an ‘Attendance Policy Statement’ for your information.  We always strive to build positive relationships with parents and carers and ask if you have any queries regarding the statement or any other matter, to get in touch with us.

Your continued support is much appreciated.  Thankyou.

Yours sincerely

Mrs B Woods

Acting Headteacher
