This week the boys’ football team took part in the Davison Cup, the first sporting competition of the new academic year. This event is a great introduction to primary football with the winners chosen to represent Derwentside District in the Daniel O’Hair County Cup Competition later in the term.
With a high level of competition from across Derwentside taking part, the boys knew it would be a difficult start to the year. However, they performed fantastically from the outset demonstrating some excellent football and progressed from their group into the final unbeaten. In the final, they were up against Shortly Bridge Primary School and after an excellent game of football, Delves Lane came out on top as 2-1 victors!
A huge congratulations to all the children involved. It was fantastic to see the children working together as a team from the outset and we wish them the very best of luck when they represent Derwentside in the County Cup Competition later in the term!
