Hello everyone and welcome to our Google Classrooms page. This is where you will be able to find useful links, technical assistance and any updates for the classroom service that we are using as a school.
Google Classroom is an exciting, new learning platform with curriculum resources we have been developing for your child to access during the school closure. Your child will have access to Google Classroom using a school email address and a password which has been sent to you via text message and email. Google Classroom has been designed to support pupils having access to increased online learning and crucially develop stronger communication directly with teachers. It will allow pupils and staff to collaborate on one learning platform. Your child will be able to access work that has been assigned by their teacher, complete the work online and share with their teacher. Your child’s class teacher will then be able to give feedback and support your child accordingly in their learning
All teachers now have a dedicated google e-mail address for contact with families. These @delveslane.school e-mail addresses are exclusively for contact concerning your child’s education.

The Classroom App
The easiest way to use Google classroom is through the app. The Classroom app can be downloaded on Android (Android refers to most non-Apple mobile phones and tablets), Apple® iPhone® or iPad®, or mobile devices running Chrome OS to manage your class and get work done.
To use Classroom on your Android device, download the Classroom app from Google Play.
On your device, tap Play Store.
Find and install the Google Classroom app.
iPhone and iPad
To use Classroom on your iPhone or iPad, download the Classroom app from the Apple® App Store®.
On your device, tap App Store.
Find and install the Google Classroom app.
Once you have the app installed, log in using the same e-mail and password.
Once you are able to login to Google Classrooms, you will be able to access your home learning timetables and resources each week from Monday at 8am. There will also be a little well-being quiz for your child to try.
Issues logging in?
Good morning all members of Delves Lane and welcome to Google Classrooms! You will have received login details for your child(ren) by text and e-mail on Friday.
I will be providing technical support with this moving forwards, and the first guidance concerns logging in.
If you have issues logging in, try this fix:
Unfortunately, the font used for the password does not distinguish between a capital ‘i’, a lower case ‘L’ and a number ‘1’
Where possible, copy and paste your child’s password into the password box when logging in. Alternatively, copy the password into a word-processor like Microsoft Word and change the font. Times New Roman works well for showing a clear difference between these letters. Once logged in, I recommend either changing the password to something you and your child can remember, or keeping a secure, written record.
If common issues occur, I will post guidance to the Facebook feed, so please check here. If you have any technical issues not covered here, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
Take care, and enjoy!

Need to upload a photo?
Hello everyone 😁
Today’s google classroom update includes two tutorial video links for how to upload photos of your work and share them with your teacher.
The easiest and recommended way to share work with your teacher and send in photos is using the app.
It can be found in the google play store on Android (non-apple tablets and phones) or in the apple app store if you have an iPhone or iPad.
Open the store then search for ‘google classroom’ The app developer is listed as Google LLC in both ‘stores’ and the app is completely free. Click on the app to ‘install’
You will need to log into the app using the login details that were sent to you on Friday.
Once you have the app on your phone/tablet, this is the video to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpOTxdvr8dE
If you don’t have a smartphone/tablet, or prefer to use google chrome on a laptop or PC, you will need this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STRgCq-yVaQ
Please note that if you choose this route, you will need to get the photo off your phone/camera onto the computer. How you do this will depend heavily on what device you use, so there are no catch-all tutorials guiding this. The best options are: uploading to a cloud drive like google drive, e-mailing the photo to yourself or plugging your phone into your computer using its charger cable to copy files across.
Once you have your files uploaded, if you need to change your work, or add anything extra like new work or photos, you will need to select the ‘assignment’ and ‘unsubmit’ it. You can then add as many new photos etc. as you like. Just make sure to submit it again when you are done!
It has been lovely to see so many people getting involved with google classrooms, and to see them interacting with their teachers. We have loved seeing your messages and look forward to seeing even more of you in the weeks to come.
As ever, if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
